Proofreading and quality assurance
Proofreading is a crucial step that comes prior to the publication of any text or audiovisual material. We know of its importance and so are proud to offer a painstaking service in order to avoid any grammatical as well as spelling mistakes. During this important stage we also double-check the quality of the translation and undertake any necessary edits to ensure it meets our fastidious standards.
On this subject, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation recommends two types of review in its translation quality guidelines. For this reason – and adhering to the translation and proofreading best practices proposed by the European institutions – AMPERSOUND guarantees its clients a review of the product at an intermediate stage plus rigorous quality control at the end of the process.
Certain audiovisual projects also require a step commonly referred to as QA (Quality Assurance) or QC (Quality Control). This is the final step before publication, release or broadcasting of the project. Depending upon the nature of the product or service, it can comprise anything from the testing of a software application to the technical appraisal and final viewing of a video with the subtitles implemented. Once complete, a revisions report is submitted to the client for the fine tuning of the project. QA is the final phase of a project, and is what guarantees that it is ready to be launched in a different language.
Thanks to our quality control processes, we are able to guarantee a result that meets the requirements of each project: style guides, linguistic correction, translation memories, glossaries, client specifications and usability in the relevant media.
